There is so much to do in the area, whether you prefer long walks with unspoiled views; heath, forest or river trails, spa towns and quaint shops, historical tours, castles and gardens you’ll be spoilt for choice. You can self-cater with packs from our local butcher, visit vineyards and farm shops for locally sourced produce and café lunches; or while away time in cosy pubs- like the Bottlehouse, supplied with produce from our walled garden and beef from our herd of Charolais cattle.

High Weald is dotted with historic towns and picturesque villages. Tunbridge Wells, founded in the 1600s attracted royals and aristocracy for its healing waters. The Pantiles is a stunning colonnaded promenade with independent shops, cafes, galleries and the famous healing spring that made it a spa town.
High Weald has many picturesque towns and villages amid the rolling hills, ancient woods and open heaths. The area boasts many wonderful rural villages and traditional country pubs, along with walks galore and sights to see. Visit the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells where you can browse amongst the independent shops in The Pantiles and High Street, enjoy the many local eateries and places to grab a coffee or a glass of wine, as well as being able to enjoy live music.
Cuckfiled, a historic down with coaching inns, antique shops and a genteel feel; Harfield – the heart of Winnie-the-Pooh country; and Forest Row with a bohemian vibe, artsy cafes which sits at the gateway to Ashdown Forest.
Groombride, Withyam and Penshurst each have their own charm, village greens, quaint pubs, and provide a starting point for trips to local castles and gardens.
Or drive a little further to Hastings for fish and chips, coastal walks, and nearby Battle where William and Harold came to blows at the Norman Conquest which defines the area
